Checked bags
Pay for your 1st and 2nd checked bags when you check in online or at the airport kiosk. All bag fees are non-refundable, per person and each way.Within the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean

If you bought your ticket on or after November 15, 2011 (and you're traveling after December 15, 2011)
If you're a Star Alliance Silver member, we'll waive the fee for your first checked bag and you'll be charged for your second checked bag. If you're traveling to/from Tel Aviv, there's a 70 USD fee for your second checked bag.
If you bought your ticket on or after December 15, 2011 (and you're traveling on or after February 15, 2012)
If you're a Silver Preferred member, we'll waive the fee for your first checked bag and you'll be charged for your second checked bag.

- Confirmed First Class and Envoy passengers
- Unaccompanied minors (with US Airways unaccompanied minor paid assistance)
- Active U.S. military personnel on personal travel
- Active U.S. military personnel with ID and dependents traveling with them on orders (first through fourth bag up to 100 lbs/45 kg each free of charge)

You're also allowed:
- Required mobility assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, canes or crutches (to check or carry on)
- Infant assistive device (stroller or car seat)
- Required medical supplies or equipment. These items may also be carried on to the aircraft, as long as they meet size and weight restrictions. If the medical supplies or equipment are included in a larger bag containing other non-essential items, that bag will not be considered a free item, and will be subject to normal baggage fees
Traveling with an infant in your lap?
You're allowed:- 1 fully collapsible stroller or 1 child restraint device or car seat (no charge)
- On transatlantic flights: 1 checked bag with maximum total dimensions of 115 cm (36 x 23 x 56 cm) and maximum weight of 50 lbs/23 kg (checked bag fees apply)
Stopping between flights for more than 24 hours?
If you stop between flights for more than 24 hours, you'll be charged for bags for each of your flights.Checking overweight or oversize bags?
If you're traveling with overweight and or oversize bags, we'll charge you at the airport. When you're trying to figure out if your bag is oversize, add the measurements for length, height and width together. The dimensions we list are length + height + width. Carry-on baggage
You're allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item. Personal items include a purse, briefcase or laptop bag.Size requirements:
- Up to 115 cm (36 x 23 x 56 cm)
- Up to 18 kg
Carry-on rules for US Airways Express
Not sure if you're on a US Airways Express flight? Please check your confirmation receipt. If you're on a flight operated by Air Wisconsin, Colgan, Piedmont, PSA or Trans States, you're allowed to carry on 2 items.- 1 personal item (such as a purse or laptop) in the cabin and;
- 1 small carry-on bag. Your carry-on bag will be taghged, placed in the cargo bin and returned plane-side or in the jetway when you arrive.
Baggage embargo
There is a seasonal baggage embargo for 'southbound passengers' to the following cities: Guadalajara Mexico City Santo Domingo During the embargo, passengers are only allowed to check in two bags - no excess baggage. Also passengers are not allowed to check in boxes. Normal 1st and 2nd bag fees apply. Normal bag allowances for First Class, Dividend Miles Preferred, Star Gold and Silver passengers remain unchanged during the embargo. Non-rev passengers are allowed only carry-on and no checked bags. Baggage embargo dates:- Easter week (Friday prior to Good Friday until the Wednesday after Easter)
- June 20 - September 1
- November 15 - January 13
