Earning milesThere are many opportunities to earn miles with Dividend Miles. Now you can earn miles and award travel like a frequent flyer (even if you’re not). Earn miles doing things you already do - such as sending flowers, subscribing to your local newspaper, dining out, and much more.
To receive mileage credit, provide your Dividend Miles account number when you make reservations, check in at the airport and when you use partner services.
Remember to keep your ticket receipts, boarding passes and partner receipts until the miles you earned appear on your Dividend Miles e-Statement or online profile.
Receiving mileage credit Airline mileage credit - For tickets purchased on or after March 1, 2008 (for travel on or after May 1, 2008), credit for an individual flight segment is based on actual mileage between origin and destination cities. A flight segment is defined as all travel under a single flight number. The official mileage published by the U.S. Department of Transportation determines flight mileage in the Dividend Miles program.
- Class of Service bonus miles will be credited according to the class booked but will not be credited on First Class upgrades or award travel. Day of departure upgrades, including GoFirst & GoEnvoy, are not eligible for Class of Service bonus miles.
- The name on the ticket must be the same as the name on the membership account to be eligible for mileage credit.
- Travel on scheduled passenger service flights qualifies for mileage credit with the exception of: (a) Dividend Miles awards, (b) unpublished charters, (c) industry-free or discount tickets including reduced fares for travel agents, (d) employee pass travel tickets, (e) roundtrip flight credit, (f) junket and barter travel, (g) bulk tickets (i.e. Priceline, Cheap Tickets, Hotwire, etc.) and (h) all other complimentary travel.
- Flights with a partner airline code that are operated by a non-partner airline are not eligible for Dividend Miles credit.
Non-airline partner mileage credit - Miles earned are subject to terms and conditions of the participating partner’s program.
- Please allow up to 60 days after qualifying activity is completed for partner mileage credit to be processed and credited to the member’s Dividend Miles account.
Mileage accrual - Mileage can be accrued for flights, hotel stays, car rentals or transactions actually taken or performed by the member, regardless of who pays for the transaction.
- Pooling or combining mileage earned by two or more members is not allowed.
- Individuals requiring additional seat accommodations are not entitled to additional mileage credits.
- The accrual of miles in more than one airline frequent flyer program for the same flight and partner transaction is not allowed.
New member credit Members may receive credit for transactions that occurred up to six months prior to Dividend Miles enrollment. This applies solely to US Airways, US Airways Express and US Airways Shuttle operated flights.
Retroactive credit - To receive retroactive mileage credit for your US Airways flight, log in to your profile and click on 'request missing miles.' For travel completed on a Star Alliance™ partner, send a copy of the ticket receipt and the original boarding passes to receive missing miles. These requests, along with other airline partner requests, must be sent in writing to the Dividend Miles Service Center within six months of the travel date.
- To receive retroactive mileage credit with all non-airline partners, please contact the partner directly and submit your request in writing within six months of the qualifying activity. Please allow 60 days from the time of request for the processing of retroactive mileage credit to your account.

Reactivation policy Active membership status is based on having earned or redeemed miles within a defined period as stated below. To keep your account active, be sure to fly US Airways, apply for a US Airways MasterCard or Visa credit card, or earn miles with one of our over 50 other partners. Option to reactivate your account with a US Airways credit card or debit card is available only to applicants who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States. In order to reinstate miles as part of this offer, member must apply, be approved and make at least one qualifying purchase.
Since January 31, 2007, active membership status is based on having earned or redeemed miles within a consecutive 18-month period. Miles are subject to forfeiture if no miles have been earned or redeemed within a consecutive 18-month period. Flight mileage credits are earned when an itinerary is flown; miles are considered redeemed at the time an award is ticketed. With our new Mileage Reactivation Policy, Dividend Miles members have an opportunity to reinstate forfeited miles for an additional 18 months for a fee:
| |
$50 | 1 – 4,999 miles | $100 | 5,000 - 19,999 miles | $200 | 20,000 - 49,999 miles | $300 | 50,000 - 99,999 miles | $400 | 100,000 or more miles |
When you pay to reinstate forfeited miles, you must reinstate the entire balance of forfeited miles. If you do not reinstate forfeited miles within 36 months of the last activity date at the time of forfeiture, forfeited miles will be permanently deleted from your account and may not be reinstated. For purposes of this policy 'Last activity date at time of forfeiture' means the last date that the members earned or redeemed miles at the time miles were forfeited.
At 15 - 17 months of inactivity, customers can pay a $40 preservation fee to remain active for another 18 months.
