If you booked your ticket before July 11, 2012
We'll charge $70 per bag for your 2nd checked bag if you're traveling to/from Europe or Tel Aviv.If you bought your ticket on or after November 15, 2011 (and you're traveling on or after December 15, 2011)
If you're a Star Alliance Silver member, we'll waive the fee for your first checked bag and you'll be charged for your second checked bag. Also, if you're traveling to/from Europe or Tel Aviv, there's a 70 USD fee for your second checked bag.If you bought your ticket on or after December 15, 2011 (and you're traveling on or after February 15, 2012)
If you're a Silver Preferred member, we'll waive the fee for your first checked bag and you'll be charged for your second checked bag.You're also allowed:
- Required mobility assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, canes or crutches (to check or carry on)
- Infant assistive devices (stroller or car seat)
- Required medical supplies or equipment. These items may also be carried on to the aircraft, as long as they meet size and weight restrictions. If the medical supplies or equipment are included in a larger bag containing other non-essential items, that bag will not be considered a free item, and will be subject to normal baggage fees.

Traveling with an infant in your lap?
You're allowed:- One fully collapsible stroller or one child restraint device or car seat (no charge)
- If you're traveling with an infant outside the U.S. or Canada, the infant is allowed one checked bag (max 62in/114 cm and 50lbs/23 kg) -- checked bag fees apply
Stopping between flights for more than 24 hours
If you stop between flights for more than 24 hours, you'll be charged for bags for each of your flights.Terms and conditions

Baggage embargo
There is a seasonal baggage embargo for 'southbound passengers' to the following cities: Guadalajara Mexico City Santo Domingo During the embargo, passengers are only allowed to check in two bags - no excess baggage. Also passengers are not allowed to check in boxes. Normal 1st and 2nd bag fees apply. Normal bag allowances for First Class, Dividend Miles Preferred, Star Gold and Silver passengers remain unchanged during the embargo. Non-rev passengers are allowed only carry-on and no checked bags.- Easter week (Friday prior to Good Friday until the Wednesday after Easter)
- June 20 - September 1
- November 15 - January 13
Carry-on baggage
You're allowed on carry-on bag and one personal item. Personal items include a purse, briefcase or laptop bag.Size requirements
- Up to 45in/115 cm (14 x 9 x 22 in or 36 + 23 + 56 cm)
- Up to 40 lbs/18 kg
Carry-on rules for US Airways Express
Not sure if you're on a US Airways Express flight? Please check your confirmation receipt. If you're on a flight operated by Air Wisconsin, Colgan, Piedmont, PSA or Trans States, you're allowed to carry on 2 items.- 1 personal item (such as a purse or laptop) in the cabin and;
- 1 small carry-on bag. Your carry-on bag will be tagged, placed in the cargo bin and returned plane-side or in the jetway when you arrive.
International baggage liability policy
For international travel (including the domestic portions of international flights) to which the Montreal Convention applies, US Airways' liability for loss, delays or damage to baggage is limited to approximately 1,807 USD per passenger for checked and unchecked baggage.Local airport/government regulations state that any baggage over 70 lbs is not accepted for travel from Manchester, UK (MAN), London Gatwick, UK (LGW), London Heathrow, UK (LHR), Glasgow, UK (GLA), Lisbon, Spain (LIS), Brussels, Belgium (BRU) and Dublin, Ireland (DUB)
