Captain Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger to fly again on October 1

Reunited with flight 1549 co-pilot Jeff Skiles

TEMPE, Ariz., September 30, 2009 - Captain Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger and First Officer
Jeff Skiles will fly together again on the occasion of Captain Sullenberger's return to the air in his new role as an active management pilot for US Airways. They will be available to speak to the media about their flying reunion at two events on October 1. Following the first media availability in New York, Captain Sullenberger and First Officer Skiles will fly US Airways flight 1427 from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Charlotte, NC (CLT). Updates will be posted throughout the day from tomorrow's back-to-work flight events on Twitter@usairwaysnews.

Pre-flight availability for New York City area media

  • Note to New York area media: Limited live truck parking space along outer curb at lower arrivals level. Other parking will be available in an adjacent lot. Cable pull will be across airport roadways so protective cable covers will be needed.

  • Where: US Airways Flight Training Center, 4800 Training Lane, Charlotte, NC 28208
  • Note to Charlotte area media: Free parking for the media and access for satellite trucks will be reserved at the US Airways Flight Training Center at 4800 Training Lane. From West Boulevard, turn north on Yorkmont, then left on Express Drive, then left on Tunnel Road. The Flight Training Center wil be just ahead.
