Executive Vice President, Corporate and Government Affairs

Steve Johnson is executive vice president, corporate and government affairs for US Airways Group, Inc. and US Airways, its principal subsidiary company. Johnson joined the Company in March, 2009 and oversees its corporate, legal and regulatory affairs, government affairs, labor relations, real estate and airport relationships, and corporate security functions.

Prior to joining US Airways, Johnson was a partner at Indigo Partners LLC, a private equity firm specializing in acquisitions and strategic investments in the airline, air finance and aerospace industries, a position he held since 2003. Between 1995 and 2003, Johnson held a variety of positions with America West Holdings Corporation prior to its merger with US Airways Group, including executive vice president, corporate. Johnson has also served as senior vice president and general counsel at GPA Group plc, which later was acquired by GE Capital Aviation Services Ltd, and as an attorney at Seattle-based law firm Bogle & Gates where he specialized in corporate and aircraft finance and taxation.

Johnson earned his Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from California State University, Sacramento.
