General terms

All Dividend Miles terms and conditions apply. You must be subscribed to US Airways e-Statement, Earn More Miles, and US Airways Cruises (provided by World Travel Holdings) emails in order to register for this promotion. If you are not currently subscribed, we will automatically subscribe you using the email address you provide when registering. You may opt out of these emails at any time. This promotion is not a game of chance, lottery or contest. It is open to all Dividend Miles members except where prohibited by local law. Members may only participate in the Grand Slam promotion with one Dividend Miles account. If a member is found to be participating with multiple Dividend Miles accounts ALL bonus miles earned from the Grand Slam promotion will be forfeited and removed from the member’s account. US Airways is not responsible for the quality or delivery of goods and/or services provided by Dividend Miles partners. All Dividend Miles partner terms and conditions apply. Participating partners and partner offers are subject to change without notice. Hotel transfers (points to Dividend Miles conversions) are subject to terms and conditions as stipulated in your agreement with your hotel program.

Earning hits and bonus miles

Bonus miles are in addition to miles awarded by Dividend Miles partners. Registered Dividend Miles members will earn 1 hit for each qualifying partner activity described below (‘hit’). In order to earn a hit, a valid Dividend Miles number must be provided to the qualifying partner. Use of a partner without earning Dividend Miles will not count as a hit. US Airways will track the number of hits earned and will award bonus miles cumulatively based on the total number of hits as per the bonus chart below. To earn hits and bonus miles, Dividend Miles members must click on partner offers through the US Airways website or request Dividend Miles when making a reservation or checking in with a hotel or car partner. Bonus miles will only be awarded for every fourth hit and each fourth hit will be known as a “tier”. (For example, obtaining 4 hits will result in 3,000 bonus miles; obtaining 8 hits will result in another 7,000 bonus miles for a total of 10,000 bonus miles. But, obtaining 10 hits will not result in any additional bonus miles.) A maximum of 110,000 bonus miles may be earned from this promotion during the promotion period. Bonus miles will begin posting on September 28, 2011 and continue posting every other week until the last posting March 28, 2012.

Preferred status and Preferred only tier eligibility

Preferred status is classified as Silver, Gold, Platinum and Chairman’s Preferred members in the Dividend Miles program. Only members with Preferred status are eligible to earn the last bonus tier (40 hits for a cumulative total of 110,000 bonus miles). If you begin the promotion without Preferred status but earn status by flying or by purchasing Preferred status through the Buy Up to Preferred or Trial Preferred programs during the promotional period you will be eligible for the final bonus tier.

Preferred-qualifying miles

Only bonus miles designated as Preferred-qualifying in the Grand Slam promotion count towards Preferred status. All other bonus miles earned during this promotion do not count towards Preferred status. Preferred-qualifying miles earned during Grand Slam will post with a 2011 activity date and will count toward 2012 Preferred status.

Eligible activity date

Only miles earned after registration and between September 14, 2011 and November 14, 2011 are eligible (‘Eligible Activity Date’). Eligible Activity Date is based on the date the qualifying partner records the mileage transaction, and not necessarily the date on which the transaction occurred. Therefore hits will be posted based on true activity date and not the date the partner posts the transaction to the US Airways system. US Airways assumes no responsibility for how qualifying partners record Eligible Activity Dates. Most qualifying partners record Eligible Activity Dates based on completion of the required activity (for example, delivery of the item purchased, return of car rental, hotel check-out, cruise completion, etc.). You should check with the applicable qualifying partner to confirm its policies and procedures for recording Eligible Activity Dates. The last date that activity from a qualifying partner can be received by US Airways for bonus miles consideration is February 24, 2012, regardless of the Eligible Activity Date for such activity.

New service cancellation policy

ALL bonus miles earned from the Grand Slam promotion will be forfeited and removed from a member’s account if new service acquired during the Grand Slam promotion is cancelled within 6 months from the end of the promotion. This date is May 14, 2012. For example, if you subscribe for a new USA Today newspaper subscription in order to earn a hit during Grand Slam and cancel it on or prior to May 14, 2012 ALL bonus miles you earned from the Grand Slam promotion will be forfeited and removed from your account, no matter how you earned them.

Non-qualifying partner activity

The following activities do not count as qualifying partner activity or hits:

  • Miles earned flying US Airways, US Airways Express or any US Airways partner airline
  • Miles earned from any company other than those listed below as qualifying partners
  • Any activity that does not earn Dividend Miles including but limited to hotel stays and car rentals that do not earn Dividend Miles
  • Hotels stays that do not earn at least 200 Dividend Miles
  • Multiple hotel stays on the same day, whether at the same hotel or not
  • Hotel point to Dividend Miles transfers that do not earn at least 850 Dividend Miles
  • Multiple car rentals that occur on the same day
  • Recurring partner bonuses including but limited to the ShareBuilder – 500 mile quarterly bonus and the USA Today – 100 mile monthly bonus
  • Miles earned for requesting a free quote for a service

Earn miles by using your US Airways credit and debit cards. Each unique card partner can count for 1 hit: 1 each for US Airways MasterCard, US Airways Business MasterCard, US Airways Visa credit card, US Airways Visa Business Card, US Airways Visa debit card.

Car rentals

(max 6 hits)
Earn 1 hit per mileage earning car rental from a qualifying partner, up to a maximum of 6 hits per member. Hits can be earned by using the same car rental partner 6 times or by using 6 different car rental partners. There are 8 qualifying partners: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National, Sixt and Thrifty.

Hotel stays

Earn 1 hit per mileage earning hotel stay with a qualifying partner, up to a maximum of 6 hits per member. A hotel stay is defined as all consecutive nights at the same hotel regardless of check-in or check-out. A minimum of 200 miles must be earned per hotel stay in order to qualify for a hit. Hits can be earned by using the same hotel partner 6 times or by using 6 different hotel partners. There are 11 qualifying hotel families available:
